Hello! I'm Nicola.
Brighton born Nicola is an illustrator and decorative painter living in Hastings. She graduated with BA Hons in Illustration from NUCA 2012, and subsequently spent 10 years in London developing skills in scenic arts for immersive theatre, television and commercials.
Her personal work is playful and jubilant with bold colour schemes. She is passionate about the positive change that creative input can bring about in community.
Nicola annually designs and paints the theatrical backdrops for Shitfaced Shakespeare, the long-running hit comedy show. She has also delivered murals for Trees for Cities — the charity that creates edible playgrounds and green spaces in urban communities, with themes of woodlands, growing food, and clean air — working in weatherproof paint built to last outdoors.
She digitally generates illustrations for graphic designers, producing fast-paced, versatile work for print and screen. From brand campaigns to editorial, the work is always bold, always warm, and always full of character.
How We'll Work Together
Every project is different, but here's the general flow from "hello" to "ta-da!"
Brief
We chat about your vision, needs, timeline, and budget. I ask loads of questions and probably doodle while we talk.
Sketches
I send you rough concepts and sketches. We refine together until the idea feels just right — playful, bold, and uniquely you.
Final Art
The magic happens! I create the final artwork with bold lines, warm colours, and all the character you deserve.
Delivery
You receive high-res files, print-ready artwork, or (for murals) a freshly painted wall that makes people smile.
